Real-life events: After each match is played, the winner's price goes up and the loser's goes down. How much they move depends on the prices of the two teams. If the more expensive team beats the cheaper team then the movement is not that much. However, if the cheaper team beats the more expensive team the movement will be large.

Trading: When people buy shares in a team the price will rise. When shares are sold the price will fall.
